Columbine Portrait

This is a more traditional portrait of a columbine than my last two posts that I made while in Colorado recently. The road to this spot was aptly named "Breakneck Pass". There was a section in this road that felt like it was going to live up to its name. Thanks for looking.

Clean, crisp and pleasing comp. One of the sharpest images of a columbine that I've ever seen. Because of that sharpness the bottom leaf being oof really draws the eye. Although it balances the image and is a nice compositional element, I think I might crop at least a portion of it. :wavey:

Wayne:
Terrific comp and tack sharp. The leaves at the bottom do not bother me but I can see that Patricia's suggestion of perhaps 4x5 crop may also work.

A beautiful image Wayne, the sharp flower and soft background work well together, as does the angle you composed this at.

Gorgeous flower! Beautifully captured, although I think I agree with Patricia on the crop suggestion. If you don't, no biggy, it's still wonderful viewing.

The soft light and natural color go a long way in this well composed floral Wayne.
Add great DOF, a smooth complimentary BG, and you have something very special:toast:

Wayne: Since I can't decide which of these I like better I guess you'll just have to send me a large print of all of them! This is one of the finest columbine portraits I've seen here in quite a while. The BG is especially complementary. Really good photography. >=))>

Thanks for the nice comments everyone, they are much appreciated. I truly enjoyed my first time photographing the columbine in Colorado so I'm glad to see that you found the results to be pleasing.

I'm always impressed and inspired by the quality and body of work produced by members of this forum. Many thanks to each of you for helping me improve my flora images.
