Image taken at Kaziranga National Park (India). This is similar to another image posted few months back in this forum though it's a different frame. Please see the larger version.

Canon 40D, Canon 70-200mm F/4 IS
1/320sec, f/8, ISO-400
"Graduated Filter" used in LR during RAW conversion to darken the BG

Hi Sandipan,

This is a fantastic image. I was keeping an eye on this image since you posted it, and the low number of comments is because the thumbnail is not attractive enough ..maybe. The scape is fantastic and one dosent get this kind of scape too often. The layers of the BG makes this image. One bit of more contrast in the FG and the elephant one wee bit to the left ..thats a personal opinion.

Well Done

I like it. Only thing I might try, and it is purely subjective, is to take a slight crop off the bottom and off the left edge. I think those are the least "active" portions of the frame and it would better emphasize the nice diagonal layers in the background coming into the picture from the top right.

Beautiful elephantscape Sandipan, very moody and well composed. I do feel it needs a very slight CCW rotation correction to get that tree line level. Great work!:toast:

Very nice frame as presented! The tusks of Elephant look impressive. I feel the atmospheric conditions are different around elephant than in the background here, as a result of which, ele is not that well seperated.

Really like the placement of the elephant and the mist and mountains in the background.
