Lazuli Bunting
by Ron Dudley
This is from our trip to the San Rafael Swell in central Utah last month. The crop is squarish but I felt that was the best compromise since I was already at 45%.

7D, 1/1250, f/7.1, ISO 200, 500 f/4, 1.4 tc, shot from pickup window on 6/4/2010, cropped to 45% of original image, sharpened bird and perch, no other adjustments or processing, natural light, not a setup

Thanks Gary. I do my own sharpening but must admit that I've had numerous lessons from Mia. She's a great teacher but even so I still screw it up sometimes.
cheers

I love the simplicity of this image and how the simplicity encourages my eyes to focus on the details, light, form and colors of this bird. I love the pose, the look you appear to be getting from the bunting and your choice of dof worked very nicely here. An excellent Lazuli Bunting image.
