A Flying Swallow

Hello All! :wavey:

A Cliff Swallow.

I recently had a chance to go through some more photos from about a month ago. I thought had all the good ones, but I managed to find one or two gems-in-hiding. These little fellows sure are fun (and challenging) to photograph.

1D Mk.IV, EF400mm f/5.6L@f/5.6, 1/3200sec, ISO 640, manual exposure, heavily cropped.

Cheers

Cool, Derrick. A better flight shot of a swallow than I've ever managed. I can see the effect of the crop, but it's still a very good image. :toast:

Brave you evening attempting this, they are so fast and unpredictable in flight. Decent sharpness but the effects of the heavy crop have taken a slight toll on the detail, although would need a larger view to better assess this.

Any decent shot of a swallow in flight is pretty good as far as I'm concerned - effects of cropping evident but well done.

cheers

Derrick,

As mentioned I think the large crop has had an effect on the finer details but I would still be happy with this image because these birds are so difficult to photograph in flight, their flight path is erratic and they are hard to track.

Love the wing position and eye contact.
