Roadrunner portrait

The roadrunners were surprisingly cooperative tonight. This one surprised me by running right by me, pausing perhaps 10 feet away. I couldn't pull in the zoom fast enough, so missed part of the bird. I chose to crop to vertical and make it a portrait. I was on my knees behind a headstone, but the bird was very aware of where I was. 7D, 1/500, f/6.3, ISO 800

Like the up close and personal look in this Rob. This might very well be my work computer, but seems like there is a very small magenta cast to this.

Rob:
You don't give information about which lens you were using.
I don't know the bird well enough to comment on magenta cast, but I can imagine that the top of the upper bill has a little color cast.
Amazing detail in the feathers of the head, especially around the eye and the detail in the neck region of the larger version is almost distracting because the fine feathers are running in more random directions. This is the first time I ever considered the use of a desharpening tool.
Neat portrait.
