Brown Thrasher III

Canon 7D With EF 500mm F4 and 1.4 tc
1/1000 sec, F 7.1, ISO 400 From Bean Bag

I have been watching this thrasher for a week and it has a pattern that involves perching on the perch in the picture. Apparently the bird is tending to a nest. What I noticed is that the thrasher brings several bugs back each trip.

Enjoy!

Nice job with what is (for me, at least!) a really tough bird to capture well! The head turn and lunch are bonus!

Pose, head-turn, perch, background all good - and the prey is a great bonus.

very nice Thrasher shot Michael! The mouthful of food is always nice, but also like the head angle you captured here.

How great to get this guy out in the open, on a nice perch with his legs spread and a bug in his mouth. Oh yes, a nice background. Doesn't get much better than that.

Michael,

First, big congrats on getting this species out in the open with a great, clear view.

Love the food in the bill, the wonderful colors, background and fine look at the eye. This is an excellent thrasher image.
