Galah II

by Simon Bennett

Here's the last Galah just after she alighted. Female and male Galahs have similar plumage, but the female's eye is rich red-brown and the male's is all-black.

Canon 7D, EF500 f/4, tripod, kwik-camo, ISO400, 1/1600, f/9, cropped for composition.

Hi Simon, This is one where its important to open the larger photo and see all the beautiful detail in the Galah. The smaller file does not do it justice especially in the head area.

Interesting and beautiful bird well captured to show underwing plumage. :toast:

Great wingspread and colours!
If this was mine, I may crop off some canvas fron left and bottom, to make it rectangular.

Simon, beautiful capture with very fine detail.
I'd also choose a square crop.

Simon,

I like this even better than your previous post and I felt it was excellent. This is much better than nice, it is gorgeous.

Better than the other one IMO - I think its the eye contact - great shot. I like the comp as is.

Simon:
What a nice pose - providing a great view of the arrangement of the grey wing feathers as well as the underwing reds that would be hidden in other poses. :toast:
