Morning Gossip

Not a terribly creative composition, since I "cheated" and used Bret Edge's iFotoGuide to navigate me to this spot and these yucca... I do like the warm sunrise light, but wished I could have had some clouds. I did experiment with a few other comps at this location, and had fun walking the wash, looking for new views, and the bonus was I had the whole place to myself

I also experimented a bit with TK's luminosity masks on this one and have decided I definitely need to learn more and use them - it made a big difference in this image.

Canon Rebel XTI, tripod
10-22 mm lens
ISO 100, F11 @ 1/30

Love the "spotlighting" on the foreground yucca. I like the comp and and the soft lighting.

I really like the light on the foreground giving it shape and character. Nice job.

Great light on the foreground (almost like a spotlight) in this photo.

I like this composition and the shadow interplay. However, I expect to see a little bit more red in the rocks.

this is very good, Angela. I like the comp. I was there last month and also had the place to myself, again, sans clouds. I also used Bret's iFotoGuide, which was extremely helpful.

Very well done, Angela. What an intriguing rock that is up there.

I like this. I was there in early June and got some nice shots of the Gossips with some lupines in the fg. I didn't see these yuccas though. Love that Park Avenue trail, too. Very nice, Angela.

Angela,

This is wonderful! I think a terrific composition (no matter how you found it! ) I say you have plenty of room here to bump up the reds and yellows and make this one pop! I think this is a great image Angela. Well done!
