Western Bluebird

by Craig Strand

This Western Bluebird was shot 2 weeks ago on a trip to eastern Washington. The area around Bickleton WA supports returning bluebirds, both Western and Mountain, by providing and maintaining bluebird nest boxes throughout the area. This male is returning with a morning snack.
Image was cropped and is 60% of full size.

Larger image available, thanks for stopping!

I really like this pose Craig, especially the insect and the perfect perch. Nice composure.

Nice image. The bird is spot on and sharp at the eye. The beak and insect may be just a little hot. But still an all round excellent photo.

Well done Craig. The long legged lunch in the beak is an added bit of interest in the photo. I might suggest cropping a little more from the left for proportion.

neat shot, capturing him with the grasshopper, Craig. nice and sharp, too. I can't decide if I want more a little more room on the bottom or not.
