Loon Brook

First of all, sorry for my recent lack of involvement here, I am at a cabin in the Adirondack mountains with no electricity. It makes it a little tricky to post, but the photography is spectacular (well at least the subjects are, who knows if my photos are spectacular! )
This is a small brook that runs into the lake, and one of my favorite spots to photograph. I'm sorry if the comp isn't the best, but it was the best I could seem to do. I was very limited as to where I could set up the tripod, and using a wide angle lens would have included tons of distracting elements. So I was stuck using either my 50mm or my 70-200, and I went with the 50. I really appreciate comments and critiques!

This is quite a pretty intimate landscape. I wouldn't say it would engage me for a long time, but is a lovely image. My only suggestion is perhaps burning the bottom rock on the right which seems overly bright.

I like the more complicated falls pattern here - nice comp. The colors seem a bit drab and flat however.

I really like what you have done with this intimate cascade, Cam. I think you made the right choice by not using the wide angle. This is just a personal preference, but what do you think of a crop from the top; about 1/2 way down the middle boulder; to place more of an emphasis on the larger cascade? Just a suggestion of course.

Cam,

This is a very nice and well crafted, intimate cascade view; there seems to be just the right amount of balance between the central cascade and the texture, patterns and colors of the surrounding rocks. I might favor a small crop from the top as well, just to simplify and remove the greenery up top. also a slight burn of the foreground rock as Kah suggests. Otherwise, this is quite nice.

The falls are real pretty, but i find that ochre color in the water a bit unnapealing. Might try a B&W conversion, and play with some slight crops.
