Blue Mountains, Australia

I managed to get a few shots during our Magic Hour Workshop on the weekend. While trying to get out of the way of the participants, I used a telephoto lens to make this image.

Canon 5DMkII, 70-200mm 2.8L IS, ISO 100, f4, 30 seconds, polariser.

Looks like a productive weekend, Winnie. I really like the way this is framed - a very balanced composition. Beautiful color as well, especially the bronze-colored slab beneath the ferns. I like this a lot.

Beautiful work Winnie. I love the delicate water falls and the splash of green of the fern.

This is very soft and very nice, I like the light a lot in this shot, the soft blue water is almost like air.
Fantastic shot!

I have always liked these scenes with the vibrant greens popping out of a dark background. Nice work!

This is great, Winnie. A great little scene. The blurred leaves are a bit bothersome, but otherwise this is a great shot. :toast:

You really softened this scene nicely with the light touches of water and the plant. Nicely seen Winnie.

Very nice scene with lovely lighting Winnie. A pity about the movement blur of the fern, but little you could have done about that with this little light. Somehow I wish that there was more falling water in the large black area in the top half left of the center line, but also that was beyond your control

Very nice Winnie - I love the way the greens jump out against the more muted BG.

I love the soft, airy look of the small cascades. The elegent fern is a wonderful element in the frame. Well done.

Winnie,

This is a wonderful, intimate beauty! I'll echo Bruno's comments for sure. It's understandable why the fern leaves are moving on the right, but I'm glad they appear more stable on the left - makes a big difference I think. The framing of the delicate cascades is just right. well done!

A striking image due to the contrast of light/dark and color. Beautifully seen and presented.

Thanks for all your comments so far. I think the fern movement on the right is a detraction, particularly on the charger version, so I may have to blend this one another file a little earlier..tried a few with higher iso also. This was taken at last light so there were a number of compromises. I'm glad some of you have mentioned them too. Cheers.
