This year our Edelwiess has 90 some flowers! These flowers where grown from seed. I first saw them in Switzerland a couple of years ago. I'm still searching for a good position to photograph these flowers. I don't see these flowers much here in the forum. I would like to share with everyone. They are so fuzzy. I took this shot in the evening, pretty breezy.. Your comments are always welcome.

A really interesting bloom Matthew. I would like to see an isolated bloom or a cluster without some being chopped at the bottom. Just my humble opinion, but, I would like to see more.

Matthew: I've been around here a long time and have a pretty good memory (well, for an old guy  ) and I can't recall seeing any of these for a long time if ever. I'm totally unfamiliar with them and their growing pattern so its hard to advise. I do think isolating a single bloom would be good and perhaps a wide environmental view. Is the red in the BG part of the flower? Looking forward to your response and more images. >=))>

Matthew,

My vote would be for a single bloom in this kind of light and against that great red bg. Looking forward to more.

Thanks for taking a look guys. These flowers where planted in a pot about 14 inches in diameter. I would have to do some trimming to get a single bloom. We planted these 2 years ago. The first year we had 7 blooms... This year over 90! Its almost like some of the blooms have grown together. Bill the flowers in the BG are geraniums. I was hoping to use some of my shots in our Swiss festival in July. Red geraniums and edelweiss, very Swiss. This shot gives you an idea of how close the blooms are together. Thanks again for taking a look.

Matthew, excellent shots. I especially like the second shot. They shocase so well the Edelweiss. We also know them from the Alps. No picking allowed! It's not easy to grow them from seed. In the first year, ours had a greenish tinge as opposed to the white fuzz. BTW, I searched the galleries for "Edelweiss" and yours was to only hit. Thanks for sharing.
