Light's embrace

Hello, everybody!

Shot this one a few days ago near home. I really liked how the grass caught the sunset light and also how the wind brought some dynamism into the scene. I think the tree on the right complicates things a bit, but it was a compromise I had to take in order to frame the grass like that.
This is a blend of 3 exposures, with the top part from 2 edits of the same raw file in order to avoid the unnatural motion of the leaves from one frame to the other. Hope you like it.

Check the larger version too and the b&w version below.

Creative use of light here. The blending work looks just about perfect to me at this size. I prefer the color version and I like it a lot. Just goes to show what great things you can do with light even in the most common of scenes.

stunning light and capture, Dorin. I think you processed this very well. I wonder if it were possible for you to shoot from an even lower perspective to allow a little separation of the overhanging tree leaves from the tree line in the disteance? The tree on the right does not bother me.

Nice! I like how the late light is catching the grass too. I enjoy looking at this. The b/w is very nice, but I really enjoy the color.

The golden light makes the color version slightly better for me, but both work well. Great light and the blur doesn't detract for me at all. Exellent work!

Hey, Winnie. I played a bit with the composition before deciding on this one. Getting lower would have brought the tips of the grass into the top part of the image and ruined the dynamics I was looking for. Maybe I could have pulled it off, but their position was very hard to predict due to the strong wind.

I love it Dorin. Great handling of late evening light. The grasses add a nice dynamic element to the scene.
Luminosity is nice in the mono but I feel the color casts my vote here.
Well done

Dorin,

Beautifully captured! The highlights in the tall stalks of grasses are wonderful. I don't mind that some of them are blurry - the motion gives the scene some nice dynamics. The tree on the right doesn't bother me and I like how the tall grasses radiate outward - moving or cropping any part would have compromised that look.

Well seen and captured and great job with the processing/blend.

the light is very nice here, warm and subtle, for these issues I´m going to vote for the colored one(just this time, mate). I feel a lot of piece looking to this and how you composed this is great too, must have been a tough one. wouldn´t change a thing, I like everything here.

Difficult composition but you put it together well. I particularly like the color one.
