Vincent: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a terrific first post here. Marvelous comp and color contrast. I especially like how you managed the light to bring out the textures in the rock and the leaf. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more.>=))>

Welcome, Vincent. Excellent first post. Very cool detail in the leaf - I love the aged effect. What did you use for the background. Is that a rock? Almost looks like it could be moss, too??

Thanks for the comments Kathy and Bill! Kathy - yes the background is a rock - probably a type of granite or black hand sandstone.

Beautiful color Vincent and interesting textures. Very nice. I might clone out a couple of the bright specs.

A fellow buckeye! Very nice post and appropriate as well for someone from Columbus. The complementary colors are great (even if they aren't scarlet and gray).

This image is all about shapes and textures. Striking colors as well. Might be a good candidate for a black & white conversion. :toast:
