Monumental Colorado

One of my favorite images from a trip to Colorado National Monument in May. These flowers (some sort of astragalus or vetch variety is all I can guess) lined Rim Rock Drive in several places. I was lucky enough to find a small unnamed pullout above the Coke Ovens formation where the flowers grew on the canyon rim. There was also a nice view toward the other side of the canyon and the Palisades in the distance. This was taken shortly before sunset. C&C welcome. Thanks for looking.

I have not been there in many years, but this reminds me of how spectacular it is. It maybe my monitor, but the flowers look alittle dull, as if they need a bit of contrast. Thanks for sharing.

I was there two weeks ago and recognized this as the Monument right away (and before I read the title). There were still a lot of wildflowers in the area. This is really nice and I like the Book Cliffs in the distance. The Monument is a beautiful place, but Rim Rock Drive makes my palms sweat.

Real nice near-far shot, Josh! A lot to look at and lead you from front to back. Theres a slight hint of a grad line or digital grad towardas the top (in the trees on left) but its barely noticeable. This is a great shot of a wonderful area--i really must get out there again! I think your lead shot in RMNP would be slighly better than this (if you brighten it a bit  )

really nice depth of field, light, and foreground elements Joshua. I can see why this is one of your favorites from this trip. This image came out well and the colors look both realistic and vibrant. Excellent work.

PS - I agree with Stan's comment about the top of the tree being just slightly darker than the rest of it. I'd probably just try to lighten up the whole side to keep everything even if you do alter it.

The flowers look pretty sharp to me Joshua. Very nice image. Great colors and the comp is solid.
