The Apparition

We had a morning yesterday filled with a heavy fog and stifling humidity. Just took a quick ride w/ only my H2 in the car. As I drove past an old cemetery, I caught this doe out of the corner of my eye standing in the road leading to it. Quickly backing up, I got just a few shots off. It is soft, but I think the canopy of the trees, the nice pose she gave me, and the background light and mist make it worth keeping. Thanks for looking, comments welcomed, larger posted. ISO-250, 1/125th at f-3.7.

Bill, I like the mood this image projects. Thanks for sharing. What is an H2?

thanks Marie and John. for me, and the comments i've gotten elsewhere, the softness of this makes the mood.

Sorry John, my little Sony H2 is about a 4-year old 6MP that really takes some nice pics--w/ limitations. But it's gotten me in the state museum of art some national and regional exhibits/awards, etc. though. I've been using a D-60 and D-90 lately, but I don't mind shooting with this still at times.

Bill, this image is all about composition and atmosphere. By composing this brilliantly you have managed to exploit the foggy atmosphere to the fullest. Very well done! :toast:

Bill, I absolutely love this image. I only might clone out that bright white spot near the center. Way to be there at the right time :toast:

thanks. You know, I had a friend play around with PSing it, and it just felt right showing it as it was. That means a lot to me.
