Hooray...weekend and sunshine! Tomorrow is another garden tour with my wife. She gladly provided the above Latin name...kinda tune-up for the chit-chat that will happen while I shoot. Hopefully, I will find something good to shoot. I did use a white core board to try to shade the b/g and brightened the flowers...then I added emphasis of same in photoshop.

Zeiss 100 mm, f22, 1/40s ..or so.

Nikon D300

Beautiful image of violett geranium. This colour is not very typical for geranium and can see it very seldom (at least in my area). Ken you have captured really excellent image if this nice flower. I like the well captured details and fabulous ligting. Well done. :toast:

The thumbnail doesn't begin to do this justice Ken. Beautiful image. I like the detail and the comp but it's the color and light that really appeal to me.

Ken, Beautiful photo. Not sure if its your processing or reality - it almost feels as if a Gold Reflector was used to light up the frame. Looks all nice to me :toast:

Great capture Ken, the flowers are electric. Very good composition. The detail is great. The only nit is the green on the foreground leaves and buds seem a tad too yellow.

Hi Ram and Bob, thanks for the pointers...I did slide the yellow in color balance adjustment trying to give more boost and contrast against the b/g. Will pull it back a bit. Great to hear!

The lighting in combination with your post processing work makes this a stand out! You've turned a nice image into something special.
