Hi folks

I took this sunrise at Punta Medanos, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This is little experiment, the difuse/soft top part of the image is because a foggy ND grad due to the very strong and humid wind that day, and i cleaned just the bottom part with a tissue. I like the result and i´ll love to read your oppinions about it.

Single shot
1DsIII / Old Olympus Zuiko 24mm f2.8 / Singh-ray 3 stop reverse grad handheld

Thanks in advance!

Terrific mood here....I like your experiment with the grad. Your timing is right on, too, with the incoming wave. If I were to change anything it would be to make this a little lighter and less tight at the bottom. Nice work!

I like the arrangement of elements, and the foggy experiment. I too would bring up the foregorund just a touch.

Ahh, simplicity is beautiful. The FG brightness doesn't make a big difference to me, both work. Good stuff.

I like this, the elements come together nicely. Try this, I would crop from the bottom, try to eliminate that corner patch of sand in the lower right, and then take a little off the right side to place the rock more off-center.

Very nice one and the brighter version is much better. If the stone go a bit to the right and included more sand pattern on the left it would be prefect.

Ricardo,

This is stunning and surreal. The combination resulting from your technique worked beautifully. I love everything about this including the swirling wave line. This is one is special.

Lon

ps. I prefer the original.

Very nice shot, the moving water, detailed FG and the dramatic color of the sky all combine together perfectly.

Ricardo,

The repost is perfect. Very beautifully captured and a brilliant idea to leave part of the grad foggy. VERY nice!

YES! You da man Ricky. Epic idea. Great results. Love the size of that surf coming in too. And the bit of sunstar. Kudos

Thanks a lot for the inputs people!

Ben: Thanks man. Im seeing your point, i´ll try that and see how it looks, but i think that will put the sun to close to the left border of the frame.

Bruno: Yes mate, im using a Zuiko 24mm OM on the 1Ds. It´s the most compact wide-angle lens ever made, almost like having the camera without a lens mounted :), extremely sharp specially in the corners compared to the 17-40L, manual focus obviously but who needs auto fucus for lanscape photography?

Very dreamy! :toast:

I would be tempted to run a graduated gradient adjustment to increase luminance (in ACR) from right to left to balance the tones (from right to left) a tad more.

Wonderful none the less.
