Some pond grasses with a bright sun hitting them and shimmering water in front. ISO-100, 1/640th at f-3.7. Thanks for looking, larger posted--man.

You made quite an interesting image of this humble subject. I like how the composition has that 1/3 2/3 share between grass and water. The reflection adds a lot. It does look a bit oversharpened, but the details are really nice and the the subject as such does not take much harm due to the sharpening.

Nice job of making a ho-hum subject interesting Bill. I might consider a 50/50 comp here, but pretty unique as is.

Bill,

Excellent job here with this capture. Repeat after me... simple is good. You've boiled down this composition to the essential element and that is what makes this work so well. I think the b&w and color work equally well here.

Nice comp too. I like your proportion of reflection to top. Alternatively, did you happen to get the reverse? with more reflection? Just a thought - but I really like this as captured.

Could be just me, but it's either the nature of the subject matter, or perhaps a tad over sharpened? Not sure, but something to check/consider.

Lon

Thanks again folks. First, I think it is oversharpened a bit in my attempt to make it pop. The reflection was very much like this though, with tiny ripples creating it. Secondly, Lon I was actually thinking to myself, "keep is simple... stoopid". I do have a couple of broader comps, not sure if that includes the reflection as I have to look back. But, as I was processing it for posting, I thought to myself, "I wouldn't mind seeing some more water in front." Go figure.
