We found some of these sacred ibis (Threskiornis aethiopicus) in a rice-field near River Sesia Park, northern Italy. During last years they nest regularly in this region. This was the first time for us.

Thanks for looking

Ciao D&L,
very nice pose with typical phlegmatic step of this species. I really like the setting with the green rice field stands out the bird. Nice head turn but in this case more rotation would have allowed to the lateral light to bright better the face.
I went to Sesia Park last autumn but there weren't many birds, maybe for the hunting season. I think spring time is better. :wavey:

Nice composition D&L. Perhaps, IMHO, in this shot the light is a bit too harsch.

Hi,
Looks like all the nits have been covered. Shooting on the shadow side of a subject rarely works in the photographer's favor. Photography is all about shooting in favorable light. Did you get a chance to return to this area in better lighting conditions?
Thanks for posting,
