This is from a wonderful workshop that I attended last weekend at the Palouse with Zack Schnepf, Adrian Klien, and Kevin McNeal. Zack recently posted a similar photo that was absolutely stunning, but this is the best that I could do.

Beautiful scene Richard. I like your composition here quite a bit, the FG hills add a nice layered depth to the image. There are a couple things that would improve this further I think. The silos could be cloned out, although it will be a tough clone job, at least it was for me :) It also looks like you may have brought out a little too much shadow detail, there looks to be some artifacting. Otherwise beautiful take on this lovely scene.

No regrets! This is unique showing the foreground so dark. I think w/o it and w/o silos this would be the standard palouse shot...with it...it has a certain attraction that I welcome.

At first I was distracted by the silos, but I think it's that other thing there, a pole of some sort, that really bothers me. I think the silos would work OK if there was something else like them that showed up in the distance, but it's too hazy back there. The darkness in the FG doesn't bother me a bit. As Ken said, it's some of these things that make this a different kind of shot, and in that way make it more appealing.

Very cool to compare your shot and Erik's. I love the depth here, the way the photo fades into the distance.
