Serene Sunburst

Spring sunburst over "Fairyland Falls" in the Columbia River Gorge. This is one of the most peaceful and serene places I have ever visited. This image was inspired by Marc Adamus and his image "Fairyland Falls." All comments/critiques are appreciated.

Nikon D80, 12-24mm dx, 2.2 sec at f/22, ISO 400, polarizer. Lightroom 3b2, PS CS4

Another excellent take on this spot. A lot of the interest rests in the middle of the image, but the big tree on the left and the ferns do a good job of drawing some attention out to the edges.

A nice shot on this spot. I love how the sun is peeking through the trees and the water motion is just right. A lot of things to see throughout the image.

This is a gorgeous image. In my opinion, I would prefer that
the sunburst be completely eliminated or captured when it
wasn't quite so bold and full. It's seems a little heavy and dis-
tracting to me. Nevertheless, this is a stunning image.

Another nice take from here Scott! The ferns on the right add a lot.

Gorgeous place and the sun is a real eye catcher. I could actually see dodging the water highlights a little lighter as they appear a bit gray on my monitor.

Great shot of this magical location . . . certainly up there with the others I've seen recently, and perhaps my favorite of them all. I like the sunburst, though the shot is just as strong without it.

Another lovely shot from here, Scott. This place really is one of the most peaceful scenes around. I think I'd prefer it without the sunburst.

Beautiful lush greens, great exposure for the water. I would prefer the image without the sunburst as it tends to compete with the falls as the main subject.

This looks like a really magical place. I think I would prefer it though either without the sun at all or with a larger sunstar. I guess for me the sun pulls my eye away because it doesn't know quite what it is at first glance. Regardless, I think you've beautifully captured this place and the image really does make me want to visit.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. It seems fairly evenly divided on the sunstar. I can go either way, but agree that the image is still strong without the sunstar.

Thanks for the comment Rick, but the sunburst is legit.
