A Step Back

A local waterfall, Little Niagara, this time in Spring and a bit back from where I did most of my shooting. The sun was just starting to reach the top and filter thru, so cropped down a bit, but I like the old arch and the gentle bend the trees so I didn't cut out too much.

Larger is posted for a better look. D-90, ISO-200, 1/2 second on tripod, f-9. Thanks for any comments!

peaceful scene, Bill; the arch is a nice feature and I would consider cropping closer to it to eliminate the overly bright top compared to the softer light down below

Thank you Rob, the top is too bright and I thought about cropping it, but I guess in this one I was just trying to present an overall feel to the place. Actually a horizontal will probably do that better. Appreciate it!

I like the brightness up top - it helps lead your eye through the scene, What I am not so fond of is the fg. It is just a big, dirt spot that doesn't add very much to the composition IMO. I'd crop up at least to where the rocks start. Looks like a beautiful place!
