Watch your step! Run across this guy out sunning himself in my back yard this morning.

Comments & critiques are always welcome, thanks for looking!

Excellent eye detail. This is such a close up it is almost macro! Thanks for sharing.

Excellent, Michael.
I especially like the coil lines going from the snout back around to that eye. Wish there were a hint of the other.
Very cool as is.

Beautiful image and the shallow DOF works well - I would have preferred a little more room on the left though

I, too, would have wanted a little more room to the left, and also the tongue out! Greedy? Who me?

Hi Michael,

I find this to be a very interesting shot. I'm normally one to like very smooth out-of-focus zones, and in this image those OOF zones look a little "nervous" to me, but I think it adds to the "mesmerizing" effect of this image. And, I would normally make the same comment about "more room on the left", but again, in this image, for some reason it works for very well me as posted. Overall I think this is a great "rule-breaker" of an image and works very well as posted.

Cheers...

Brad

Nice close-up, Michael. I had a similar encounter yesterday but wasn't as smart as you to go with a 500mm lens.
