Jagdeep,

I can sure see why this bird got the name Golden-backed! I love the great setting, the pose of the woodpecker and the great view of the head, bill and eye.

If this were mine I would back off on the sharpening just a smidge, in the larger version the golds seem a bit crispy. That is a very minor issue though.

I would love to see this colorful woodpecker in person.

Nice capture of this gorgeous bird. It does look a bit over sharpened on my monitor, but that is a minor issue.

The split moustachial stripe, and the lack of white spots on the shoulder identify this as a Greater Flameback. It also has a red rump that is not seen in this image. The similar looking Common Flameback, is smaller, does not have a split moustachial stripe, and has only three toes. Lovely image, btw, Jagdeep!

Thanks friends ! I decided to repost this image, to correct the amount of sharpness and the saturation here is zero ( in camera as well as in photoshop), just to show the true colours of WP.
Thanks Dr. Ajit and this one too is from Tadoba.

What a beautiful bird! Very nice capture, love the composition, pose of the bird, and the wood. I might back of the sharpening a tad on it.

Great colors and I like the way you left a lot of the tree in the image.
