Stormy Rainbow

Last weekend, a quick but intense storm came through, dropping a bunch of rain quickly. After the storm passed, this rainbow appeared, right at the trailing edge of the storm. I managed to find a view over a wheat field. Using DPP, I double processed the raw file, once normally and once with the linear option, then fused in photomatix to give it a closer feeling to the actual scene. 7D, f/11, ISO 400, 1/640, small crop

Totally awesome, Rob! You can chase a lot of storms before getting a shot like this. The elements really came together here. I love the dramatic dark clouds. They really make the rainbow pop (I see a hint of a second rainbow too). Your processing is very good. Thanks for sharing.

Simple but very nice. I like that you can see the rain passing through the main rainbow.

Great catch on the double rainbow! And the light rays emanating from the clouds are wonderful, as is the lighting overall.
