One Yellow Rose

I am fond of wet roses, either dewy or wet after a good rain shower. We had a good shower the other day; fortunately not so bad as to beat up the roses. I rushed down to our local botanical garden. I got a number of lovely blooms, with this yellow rose just nosing out a variegated pink and a deep red. Enjoy! Comments and critiques are most welcome.

F/20, 1/60, ISO 400, fill flash (-1.7 EV); D300 w Tamron 90mm/f/2.8, Monopod. Slight crop; PP in LR3 beta2 and CS5. Cloned out a few spots on the rose and some harsh OOF specular highlights.

I know how you feel about shooting flowers just after a rain. They are soooo refreshing to view when they are wet, but it is very difficult to get the same effect in a picture. You've done well here. Would only suggest you eliminate some of the spots on the leaves and tone the saturation down a bit. :jump:

What a beautiful rose Phil, the rose stands out nicely against the dark bg, good lighting on the rose

Phil: I might crop this a bit tighter but I love the color you got in the strong light. I'd hustle for a shot like this as well. :toast: >=))>
