This Gadwall drake was shot early yesterday am, sleeping in with his reflection. Yes, I know many will wish for more canvas, me too, but shooting between brush it was this or nothing.

I love the rich colours and the reflection is perfect. There's a funny optical illusion that I can't get my head around. The water where the rock is appears to be sloping yet the reflection seems vertical.

Thanks for the comments.
Ian, I think I see what is puzzling about the waterline. The duck is actually standing on an old tree stump that from the right emerging point, runs left and back. The waterline along the curved side does give a funny optical illusion. I did do a very minor CCW rotation on the image to better align the bird with his reflection, but I don't think that effects what we are looking at. I appreciate your keen eye.

Hi Craig,
Good image with a nice reflection. Details and light are spot on. My only nit is the area around the eye is a tad dark. I personally like to have a good strong eye contact.
Thanks for posting.

The comp is really nice as is the setting. I'm seeing a color purplish cast in the darks (on log and feet) on my end.
