Posted this image in the NW forum a couple days ago but didn't find a way to add it to my NPN Gallery there. Taken early AM on Mother's Day along the trail up to Cedar Butte off the John Wayne/Iron Horse Trail. Thanks for looking. Comments welcome.

Bruce:
The blooms just pops out of the BG. Nice color contrast.

Not sure if you have a slight tilt to the camera position or not, but I like the composition with an ever os slight tilt of the subject so that the stem starts/ends in the corner. Not sure if a horizontal flip would aid this capture as a presentation or not. Flipping it puts your starting point for your subject in the llc and your eye goes up and into your subject and then out. Our culture generally sees from left to right hence my comments. Just a minor personal opinion. The main point is the capture which is right on. :toast:

Wow, what more could you want from the colors? The background is great, too. My only nit would be a suggestion to find a way to minimize the dark spot in the URC (cloning, tone down, or even a careful crop if it woud not upset this fine comp.)

Thanks for all the comments.
Good point Steven, the canera was level, I don't have an explaination. I guess I caught it at the right time. Eventually gravity will straighten it all out I suppose.
I hear you about the URC Wayne, it's been suggested and I'll check it out.

Bruce: I'm kind of glad you had to post here so we could get in on the treat as well. Really good DOF management and a gorgeous capture. >=))>
