I cropped this image down so you can see the details of the head colors. I used Smart Sharpen in CS4 and Neat Image to clean the background noise.

Excellent job with the exposure. They are beautiful subjects and this portrait in good light shows off why. How big of a crop is this?

Nice portrait, Rowdy. It looks like you held the balance between the blacks and whites about as well as possible for this species. I suspect, like a lot of high-contrast subjects, they're best shot on a cloudy day, but I don't know how anyone could resist this opportunity. Beautiful dof and the water bg is very nice.
