Bleeding Heart

Taken today. One of my daughter's flower beds was going to be dug up, so I "rescued" the bleeding hearts and some other things. Had a great photo shoot with Steven K shooting these. Eager to see what ya got, Steve. Not sure I like the oof ones in the background, but am afraid if I cloned them, it would be a mess.

Kathy: I like the receding POV. I think I would have pushed the main subject a bit further right in the frame or perhaps crop this to 5:4 from the right. >=))>

Kathy, the OOF helps to make your subject stand out and I think that you've handled it well!

Kathy, OOF elements are just fine. Like Bill said composing more to the right would have utilized more space in the frame and also given a better perspective to the OOF elements. I do like the beautiful pinkish reds and the dark background

I really like this in just about every way. I did have the same thought on the comp as Bill, I confess, but it's still quite effective as-is.

Kathy, you are quick! I had a great time in your studio yesterday. I was impressed with it. I have to get some Bleeding Hearts in our flower bed. Our daughter-in-law just casually mentioned this afternoon at dinner that a friend of theirs has a bunch of them growing and available for transplant. She just looked at me - my eyse bugged out. She knows I am interested! Thanks to you! Our vision is different Kathy.

Regarding this capture - SWEET. I like the train effect. Looks like a locomotive coming at you with the rest of the cars in tow. Crop wise, i believe you said this was a quick posting, so I believe you haven't given thought to final printing or cropping. I also like the rim lighting on the "locomotive". I think I could help you with isolating the subject more and working your concerns. I would go with what we might talk about at this coming Saturday's meeting.

Thank you for putting up with me yesterday and looking forward to seeing you and George this Saturday.

For the record - I have 6 finalists from about 30 original captures from yesterday's session.
