Three Hills

Here's a final photo from the Arizona flower patch I wandered into this spring. This photo and Storm Passing are my favorites. Although this photo was well after dawn, the light was rich; the hills behind and to my left were just allowing the sun to peek into the scene.

Thanks for putting up with me posting multiple photos from this area. I took more, but they border on redundant with what I've already posted. I may never stumble into flowers that rich again, but I love the way photography allows you to take your memories home with you.

Beautiful comp and colors, John. I like the cactus in the midground to add another interesting element to this. Well done.

I've really loved this series, John. The curves and diagonals here add additional interest to the flowered foreground.

John, this is definitely my favorite of what you've posted so far. I love the sweeping foreground of flowers, the cactus as a nice focal point, and the layer of the hills in the background. Fantastic!!

(P.S. Great meeting you in the gorge this spring too!)

This is another fine image from your trip down south John. Nothing I can see to change this one. I would be hard pressed to pick the top image from what you have posted thus far (as you probably have the same issue) but this might be it. Really well done.

Really nice light and color, John. I like this comp with the cactus just adding even more interest. Nice dof in this also. This is nice work, and my favorite of the series.

Very nice John. The splash of orange on the slope beyond and to the left of the cactus is a subtle, but appealing element of the scene. As usual your mastery of processing is something I aspire to. The entire series deserves a toast. :toast:

John,

I'm certainly not tired of these and I see a couple of others on your website - Great images! This one is another outstanding capture from your spring travels here. I'm guessing there will be a few folks asking you next year where you found this awesome display of Arizona wildflowers.

And you've captured this scene of yet unopened poppies and made a glorious springtime image. This is awesome!

I really like this John, the colours in the wild flowers really bring this to life. I also like the repeating curves in the hills in the distance. Your processing has worked a treat.

Gary.

You sure had a field day from here John, what a wonderful portfolio of images you put together. I love how you framed the cactus against the back hill here, and of course the flowers are beautiful too.

What a sight. The field of flowers are certainly beautiful, but I really like that there is a cactus so well placed in the composition. This certainly stands out for that reason. I'm not sure it was possible, but did you capture this scene with the poppies open or was the light too intense for that?
