Quite a pose, David. Wonderful view of this bird. Details in the head and feet as well as your capture of detail in the whites looks great to me. I see a little blur in some wingtips. Possibly a DOF result. I don't consider that a deficiency: it gives some sense of motion. Fine image. :toast:

A fun image - the spread wings and extended feet make this look like a wild jump for pleasure.

Very nice and interesting shot David. Love the extension of the bird and the great eye color. Nice exposure and sharpness too.

Very nice. Very hard to handhold 500 without 1.4, even harder with...

Those trailing feet really make the image. It looks like platform diver just leaving the board. Great job on all the techs. :toast:

super pose, David--love those extended legs. cool breeding colors and good techs. I might give it a little more room in front if you have it.

Great flight shot, David. I like the crowded bg in this case, as it shows the ability of these birds to navigate it so well. With this much contrast, the bird stands out fine. :toast:

Thanks for the comments. "Exuberance" and "full of life" are anthropomorphisms that come to mind when I view this shot. I was wondering if other viewers would have a similar reaction. The answer seems to be yes.
