Canon 7D With EF 500mm F4
1/1600 sec, F 6.3, ISO 160. From Bean Bag

They just showed up locally 2 days ago.

I would be happy to get critique both good and bad.

Beautiful color. The plumage detail on the wing is excellent. I like the action pose with the foot up. It looks like the focus point may have been on the wing instead of the eye. A slight head turn towards you would have been perfect. Pose as is, I would like a little more depth of field. I like the details in the sandy beach, and the blue water background. :toast:

beautiful bird, Mike. I only get to see these in winter plumage. I like the setting and detail in the body. I agree with Dan that the head looks just a hair soft, and that I'd prefer the bird turned toward us a bit more.

Michael,
beautiful light, colors and setting. As Dan and Brian said, I'd have preferred a bit more of head turn toward you. Overall a lovely capture! :toast:

Michael,

I like the low angle you have here, the pose of the turnstone, setting and the nice details. It looks to me that the legs appear a bit over saturated for this species, I might bring that down ever so slightly if this were mine.

I like the head angle, you have light in the eye and I see a bird going about its business, which is appealing to me.
