Dancing with the Wind

subject was taken with a nikon d40x at iso-100, at one 400th with an aperture of 5.3. Although it was a breezy day, my shutter speed allowed me to take this photo without a tripod, with a 200 mm lens set at 145 mm.
this gave me a narrow DOF, but a darkened and blurred background
welcome comments on composition and lighting.

I love the way the Tulips pop out from the darkened background. My only suggestion might be to get alittle tighter on the flowers without cropping the stumps. Good presentation.

I like the bg and the rhythm of the composition also Bob. I might want the stump a touch sharper and I might crop some from the right in that there's not a lot of visual interest there for my tastes. If you don't crop out some from the right, then I'd probably darken the white spots in the bg.

I love the quartet Bob. I like the varying heights of the flowers. I also like the dark BG. I do wish that the stump was not on the left as it seems to compete with the blooms.

Bob:
Nice comp of this quartet. Nice as presented but a vertical crop may also work.

Bob, I quite like this photo  - nice grouping and I think the presence of the stump gives it some depth. A squarish crop should also look great here removing some from the right.

Bob; Sorry to be so tardy commenting on this. I especially like the lighting. I do like the original but the repost is excellent. Well done.>=))>

thanks for your many comments. I agree that the closer cropping of the re- post is much more effective
