Renaissance Light

Some of you may have seen this on facebook already. Another taken while leading a workshop last weekend in the Gorge. I love this kind of light, very reminiscent of the rich tones seen in renaissance paintings, and paintings of the Hudson River School. This is probably my favorite from all my shots in the Gorge so far this year.

I can see why this is your favorite, Zack. Gorgeous light and composition. The tones are reminiscent of renaissance paintings. Lovely image.

I see what you mean about the light which I have seen favoured by Renaissance painters and before. The effect is very painterly and beautiful as well.

A little artistic license and printed on a good canvas and this image would be hard to distinguish from a period piece. Beautiful rendering Zach.

I'm sure you're workshop students were thrilled at this sight.

Yeah, that is some sweet light! I think this is the nicest shot from this viewpoint I've seen. At least in recent memory. Really nice!
