I don't usually like high camera angle, but the head turn and expression of this cub and the position of the salmon seem to make it work alright.

Thanks for looking!

Yes, the expression is very cute, but the image looks a little soft on my monitor, Neil.

The head tilt and expression are perfect! The red salmon is an intense accent. I agree that the face is a little soft and wonder if your focus point is a little further back. You might try to add some selective sharpening to the eyes and nose to see how it would print.

I love the look also Neil and the angle doesn't bother me. I do agree about the image looking soft. Hope the extra sharpening can correct it!

It seems a little soft to me too, and like you I'm never quite sure about such a high camera angle, but the pose and behaviour work nicely...

Hi Neil,

I do like the expression and tilted head (in an almost "questioning" look) and the salmon is a nice touch of colour. But, I have to say, the high camera angle still has a bit of a negative impact on me. This might come from my own experience of working with bears - the moment I see this type of angle I think "...shot from a viewing platform" and others may not think this way at all (and thus not be bothered by the angle at all). I'm wondering if cropping a little off the top (to make the space there more consistent with that on the sides) would strengthen this image a tad - it would also serve to pull the head a little more out of the central position (vertically) that it's currently in. Just a thought...
