Large-flowered Trillium (Trillium grandiflorum), Shenandoah National Park. These start out white and then turn pink with age. All comments/suggestions much appreciated.

Beautiful woodland flower - these are similar to those in the PNW, but look much larger.
Fine detail in the lines, color, stamens, and leaves.

Beautiful capture Philip of a subject at its peak in past prime maturity. I like the immer glow of this gracefully aged beauty. I might try to retouch the pollen spots on the semi-vertical petal, looks like dandruff! But that is just me - an ex-studio shooter. Other than that personal nit, and a very small personal nit, :toast:

I'll be darned. Wonders never cease. In the PNW, ours turn more red when they age. This is amazing to see, and I'm glad you posted it. Beautiful color and with the glow at the center of the flower to boot. Very nice detail and a great comp on such a big flower.

This works for me Philip. You captured the color and details well and I like your DOF choice. One small thing might have been to back up just a little and capture all the top leaf.

Philip: What a beauty! We don't have these around here so I've never seen one in the wild :frown: . This shot helps ease my pain. Most excellent. >=))>

A beautiful photo of a beautiful flower, Philip. The three levels of the three contrasting colors are very pleasant for my eyes. It' a pity that we don't have here this splendid wild flower.
Cheers.

Beautiful shot Phillip. Excellent subject/ground separation, comp and color palette. The larger image is particularly nice.
