Spring Bloom

This is in an open space preserve which borders two highways and a lot of urban development. Every spring it is covered in daisies. This year I brought my three year old son with me to walk amongst all the flowers. A perfect overcast day with no wind. I took pictures and my son threw rocks in the pond near to where I was photographing. A zen moment for both of us, just different mediums. Comments or critiques always welcome. Thanks.

David: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a terrific first post here. I love the DOF here and the strong lower part of the image especially. I would definitely crop the narrow strip of BG on the top and might even crop to 4:5 from the top. I also like the shot of your son. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more.>=))>

I agree with everything Bill said - and I love the sharpness and clarity you've managed. Great comp choice with the use of the white flower!

My first thought was Julie Andrews singing "The hills are alive...." with wildflowers. As I was scrolling down, and cropped off just the very top of the image so it was all flowers, I saw what Bill suggested, and agree. The odd white daisies add to the image and the placement of the one lower right one adds to the compositional impact. Very nice capture David. :toast:

Great job. Love the DOF and if you made the crop suggested by others I would have the feeling a dropping into the abyss of wildflowers. No urban sprawl here!!

David, I love the angle, great depth and the movement. Natural selective focus perfectly edited. I like the photo very much.
Take care.
