Another form the "light box diaries". This parrot tulip was at its peak of being fresh and fully open. Shot with Canon 40D 90mmT/S 100 iso f11 1/10 sec.

Bob, another 'lighting' exhibit for us to enjoy...excellent. The shadows and light bring out the petal's textures...they look like crashing waves by a master oil painter. Ken S

Man, your natural light box is magical, and your use of that lens -- getting superb focus -- is superb.

OH BOY.. I'm suprised, humbled, and thankful to everyone here. Thanks for the comments/feedback and support. These "light box diary" images were inspired by the work of Christopher Beane. When I got his book I was blown away. I studied the lighting he was using resulting in the light box that I'm currently using. It is a very simple setup. I use a cardboard box with black velvet at one to provide the background and a narrow rectangular slot in the side of the box to provide the directional light. I adjust the light coming in the side with either solid material to block out light or tissue paper to diffuse it. Be my guest and give it a try. Only criteria is to post your results and let us know how you made out.
