I made this photo last spring near Malhuer NWR. This is the cool little dance the couple performs after copulation. I'm eagerly looking forward to returning to Malhuer next week.

All your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated.

Nice interaction, Ken. The whites in the female don't show much detail, but that may be more dof than exposure. It's a bit tight in the frame, but not bad. Have fun next week! :toast:

a nice moment well-captured, Ken. good detail in the blacks, not a whole lot in the whites, but they don't look blown, and nice bright legs. I wish the female's eye showed just a bit more. Have fun with them this spring!

Necking! Love the behavior you captured, but do wish for an eye on the other bird. The crossed bills are cool. Sharon
