Edge of the Earth
by Zack Schnepf
I was fortunate enough to have this chosen as Image of the year in Man and Nature a few years ago. It has gone on to be my most award winning image. The funny thing about this image is I was just goofing around killing time waiting for sunset, which never materialized. I didn't realize how good the image was at first because when I set up the shot I couldn't even see the mountain yet, fog banks kept rolling over the mountain. It actually took me 10 attempts until I got this shot with the mountain un-obstructed by fog. I used a 10 second timer and would scramble up to get in the shot in time. This is the final image when it all came together.
