Long eared owl on a hunt

It's one of the most common owls in the parts of Europe that I usually stay at but it's really uncommon to see them hunting in the daylight. I took this shot from a car on a roadside in France early in the afternoon. He payed zero attention to me and stayed extremely focused on a ditch before plunging into it and catching a mouse which he unfortunately took far away to finish. This happened following a few days and nights of a really stormy weather and I'm guessing that it forced a starving owl to go hunt during the day. Unfortunate for the owl but what a great spectacle to me! I have a shot of him facing me but this one looks more natural to me and shows the deep focus of the birds. What do you think about the white BG?

White background really emphasizes the owl, good choice Andrius. Beautiful bird.

Andrius great shot but would like to see the EXCIF and CAMERA details this helps a lot to give a good critique and maybe for others to ask questions and learn.

An unusal image - I've never seen this species out in the open in daylight like this.

I love the stare he is giving . An often under-photographed species. Great to see it here. :toast:
