Canada Calling

After lying on the other side of this pond, trying to hide I presume (see the forum regarding such behavior), this Canada goose put on a long show for me the other day. It shared this very small piece of water with several mallard pair, wood ducks and I believe, a couple of merganser varieties. Since this bird is so large it enabled me to get a decent capture given my equipment. Thanks for looking!! No Nikon on this day, just a Sony H2 and 12x.

Nice comp and action shot. You could also crop this just under the grass beneath the goose (cutting out the clump of grass on the lower left.)

Nice comp on this and it looks like you have nice detail in the wings. I would maybe try to brighten the blacks on the head just a little to see the eye a little better. Nothing better than hangin' around water with ducks and geese! Sharon

Agree with John on the crop. Like the off center positioning......Izzy

Thanks folks! Had that clump cropped out, just thought its inclusion made a better overall comp--just an opin. And yes, cool little pond with all of those ducks--i'm hooked!!

Several things I really like about this photo Bill, the foreground grasses, the light water below the bird, the flapping wings and the calling behavior, nice image! :toast:
