This is probably one of my ten personal faves. The conditions were so awesome that day I really had to pick and choose my subject matter. I knew what I wanted to capture and I kept hiking until I found it. It was taken near Telluride, Colorado my first and only night there.

I am posting it now in honor of my new website. If you get a chance I'd love for you to check it out and let me know what you think. All comments and critiques welcome.

Michael, this is really beautiful, and your website is excellent.
Love the comp, colors, and Ii bet you could recover some of the detail in the lower dark water, with a bit of tweaking - this would make it even better.

Thanks a lot of Sandy - I really appreciate it. In the master it is clear, I purposedly blurred it a bit as I thought the air bubbles and brown water to be bit distracting.

A well-composed image and I like the movement of both clouds and water. The saturation of the greens may be a little strong, but that's being pretty nit-picky and I'm also guilty of that from time to time, especially when visiting the Colo. San Juans in the summer.

Great sky in this, and very nice comp as well. The FG seems a bit soft, but it's been a hard day and my eyes are tired, so take that with a grain of salt.

Thanks guys - I appreciate it. I agree with both of you. The greens are a bit saturated and the fg is a little soft. I'll tweak it and repost it tomorrow as I am away from my primary computer tonight.

Beautiful Image, I actually don't mind the greens, especially after a long grey winter. Great work. Your website is fantastic as well.

Just a little attention to the items mentioned already, but this is a really nice capture of a summer day in the San Juans.

As mentioned, and I agree, incredible movement felt in this shot.

Michael,

Very nice mountain scenic. I really like the flow to the composition and I like the balance of all the elements; from the great sky, to the boulders, vegetation and the cascading water. Very nice.

I would agree about the green saturation and if it were mine I might also brighten up the mid tones a little - but then it's so hard to judge that kind of stuff on the web.

Man, these are the places where I could just sit, watch and listen for a whole day. Very well captured, Michael. I agree about some tonality issues in the mid-tones and about the greens being a little on the aggressive side. But I guess that can be fixed. Otherwise I just enjoy the scene here.
