NPN Memory
by Andreas Resch
Unfortunately I can't look back 10 years in my personal (digital) photography life as I'm back into photography for just 4 years now. It's also quite hard for me to define a single image as my "best" as aside from the technical point of view, there are also so many stories and memories attached to them which make them all special in some way.
This one though, is special to me as far as NPN is concerned. It got me an editor's pick in 2008. Amongst so many gifted photographers here this one counts a lot and I'm still proud of it. Aside from that I'm happy to have met so many great photographers and friends here which helped me to improve on my thoughts and qualities about photography. On top of that, I'm happy to have met "Didl" Gloger through NPN which meanwhile has become a good friend and is always fun to hang out with.
Thanks to NPN and all the people to make this great photography platform possible.
About the image: It was taken in the Austrian Alps at a location which I count to my favorites now. It was taken in September 2008 just after the first snow had fallen up there at a height of 2000m. It was taken with my 5D and my beloved Zeiss 35-70mm which replaced my Tamron 28-75mm that was smashed against a rock by heavy wind.
There a LARGER VERSION there too.

This has such an antarctic and calm mood to it, So frozen fragile and peaceful that I even so much as exhale sharply it will shatter into a million pieces. Makes me hold my breath.
