Rich Reflections

On a recent morning, the light was great, the wind calm and all seemed right--in fact, I called the album for the shoot Postcard Morning. While this is "just another" reflection pic, I really enjoyed the deep tones and the light hitting the hillside trees--there were so many wonderful reflection shots, it was difficult to choose one. I cropped out about 1/4 the bottom as there was a brushy area poking thru the water, not sure if I should have left it. Anyway, I'd appreciate your feedback. Larger image is better. I really like this reflection but am curious as to others... thanks!! Oh, D-60... ISO-200, 1/500 sec., f-5.6, @ 200mm w/ Nikkor 55-200mm.

The reflection is indeed special, and would work well as an abstract on its own IMO. I also like the barren woods.

Thanks Bill, I also like how the shadows of the trees on the far hillside are at a contrasting angle to the reflections in the water.

Bill, this as a great example of a strong landscape image prior to foliage. The crop was no doubt a good thing, as I like the clean bottom edge and the strong lines created by the reflected trees.

Bill nice reflection. The barren trees make for an interseting image. :toast:

Bill,

A fantastic reflection for sure. Too bad you had some distractions you had to crop out because I would love to see more of the reflection.

I think you've done a great job in improving your vision with these scenes - isolating and recognizing the simplicity. Nice work.

Thanks Lon. I've been trying to implement the things I'm learning on here. Glad you liked it. I wish that scrub wasn't there, but I'm not PSing it out.
