Gallery: 10 Years of NPNPosted April 10, 2010591 views22 comments
Seascapes featured heavily in the first few years of my photography and this one remains one of the most dramatic. The Moeraki Boulders of New Zeland at dawn.

The mood is wonderful, the angles of the water movement amazing and the texture on the boulders is interesting. Compositionally should the boulders be so central? Anyway it's a beautiful image.

Most dramatic, yes, but most elegant too. I remember how my jaw dropped the first time I saw this one, Kah Kit... Still one of those pictures you never get tired of seeing, fantastic job.

Kah, the drama captured in this scene is amazing. With all the action around the rocks truly make a very strong and static contrast to everything else on the move.

This is another very appealing composition that I distinctly recall viewing in the ES&S Gallery. The wave action resulting from the long exposure adds a lot of interest. If anything, I would have hoped for just a slight amount of separation between the two boulders.

The power yet softness of the flow of the water shines in contrast to the hardness and stablility of the two rocks. Also love the lines and textures throughout. Remember this well and it still holds a special appeal. Thanks for posting it again.

Beautiful, Kah. I had the chance to stop at this location while in NZ, only enough time to walk out to the boulders and get a couple of shots. The wind was howling, the blowing sand was ferocious, the people were many, and the light was terrible. But, I have my shots of this very interesting location. Love your pic

Love the composition and the treatment of the water. About as good as it gets for my tastes.
