Lower Antelope Canyon. My first trip to this location, and trying to come up with my "own" images was hard. Hopefully this one is not as common.

Comments/Critiques always welcome

Certainly a very fresh take on the Canyon Edward(at least for me!), love the composition here and the flowing 'S' shapes. Very nice!

I absolutely love the tight crop here! A true abstract, relying totally on color, texture and light. I think you achieved your goal of capturing your "own" image here. One of the best I've seen from this location in a long time.

Beautiful! A unique take on this icon, I love your framing here, and your title suites the image well. Great work!

Its not as common and its great the very fact that the unlit portion is next to the illuminated section creates a very powerful contrast.

This is spectacular Edward! I have never been there and most of the images I have seen are at NPN over the years and I must say this is one of the better and most unique images I have seen from it (as far as I can remember). :toast:

Wonderful lines of light Edward!

Edit: But I have to ask Edward, did you selectively desatuate portions of the image? Just curious. I keep coming back to figure that out. I have also been here only one time and don't know the light well of this place. I do know, depending on white balance it tends to orange or purple. Just curious.

I don't recall seeing one quite like it, and it's a wonderful image. The composition is delightful.

Love the swirls and the depth portrayed and the varying colors just add to it. Great shot.

Wonderful composition and color. I like the combination of deep reds and neutral grays very much. It does set this image apart from the more common interpretations from this place.

My thoughts exactly! Even better was the fact that I was there that day.

A recognizeable location, but not a recognizeable comp. So good job on finding something fresh. Of course the subject matter is always enjoyable, and your technicals are always very good. The combination makes for an excellent result.

A fabulous shot, Edward. I never get sick of seeing images of these canyons. I love the way you've composed the shot. The rock has a liquid flow to it that is intriguing. A wonderful array of tone, texture and color. If the fg was desaturated then it works very well to add depth and power to the image.

Thanks everybody for the comments.

There was not selective desaturation. The strong light was bounced off to the back wall of the scene, producing this effect.
