Grebe and chicks

British Columbia, 2009

This shot represents my growth as a photographer over the last few years, learning from the honest critiques here, and also from the several on-location photo workshops I've attended, taught by members of NPN.

I'm grateful to all of you.

Sandy,
I remember this. Glad to see it again because I was too late to comment before. Not only is this a beautiful photograph, it also evokes feelings of the importance of family.

Sandy,
I really like your work but this one is exceptional. Your sharpening on this is spot on and capturing this pose along with the comp, correct exposure etc... really makes the image sing!

Sweet shot Sandy, and perfect timing with the little one's mouth being open. Very, very nice.

Fantastic image Sandy. I love watching birds and their young ones. I can just hear their little bird voices saying what about me, what about me...... Beautiful capture!

I assume your weren't going for cute, or touching but that's the feeling it gives me. Technically excellent, but this image goes beyond just technique. I'm particularly intrigued also by how different the chicks are from the adult, and look how well behaved they are lining up to take turns. " Wink, wink, nudge, nudge."

When I got the lens I purchased from you in the mail the other day and saw this as the photo you chose for your business card I exclaimed to my mother how it was such a wonderful image and she promptly agreed. Glad to see here as it's the perfect gallery for it.

This certainly nails it with the "aawww" factor. Congratulations for making such a wonderful picture.
